Business Storytelling – Influencing Others in the Workplace
Business Storytelling – Influencing Others in the Workplace
To support change management in the workplace, we require skills to persuade to be onboard with new initiatives. The ability to influence the way our teams think and behave can be crucial to implementing business change and overcoming obstacles and challenges. In a post-covid world, workplaces are dealing with multiple changes; and these changes go beyond the physical environment to consider the mindsets and perspectives.
Storytelling is a powerful skill that has enabled successful leaders to connect, engage and inspire stakeholders. Well-crafted and told, a story makes us feel emotionally connected and ready to answer the call to action. Unlike PowerPoints and traditional business plans which tend to be static, lacking in context, and low on emotion. Stories that are powerfully crafted usually stick in our minds, cement ideas, and bring concepts alive. This business storytelling program is designed for working professionals who want to boost their ability to influence, build engagement and inspire people to take action. Through storytelling, we hope to help organisations achieve business outcomes with resounding success. Leaders will have a chance to develop their own stories, and stories for their company/product/service. Participants will leave with curated stories to tell so they can begin influencing people immediately.
At the End of the Workshop, You’ll Learn to:
- Select appropriate approaches to communicate stories effectively
- Identify and implement specific ways to encourage responses from stakeholders
- Use story techniques to substantiate or challenge viewpoints using a logical approach
- Reflect on and refine story writing and telling effectiveness
