Data Storytelling & Visualization (IBF Level 3)

This program has been accredited under the IBF Standards, and is eligible for funding under the IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS), subject to all eligibility criteria being met.

Data Storytelling & Visualization

Data storytelling is said to be the future. Data without a compelling narrative is just another piece of information. Unlike PowerPoints and traditional business plans which tend to be static, lacking in context, and low on emotion, stories stick in our minds, cement ideas and bring concepts to live. A story that is thoughtfully crafted with data visualization can be powerful in connecting emotions and motivates call-to-action.

This program is designed for working professionals who want to boost their ability to influence, build engagement and inspire people to take action through the use of data visuals.

At the End of the Course, You’ll Learn to:

  1. Apply the principles of data visualization to create a draft for an infographic to address a business problem of an identified audience group

  2. Identify interactive elements to be incorporated into an infographic

  3. Use story techniques to engage the audience

  4. Reflect on & refine data visualization & storytelling effectiveness
