Emotional Intelligence: The Cutting Edge of Leadership
Emotional Intelligence: The Cutting Edge of Leadership
For you to lead effectively, you need to engage both the minds and emotions of those you lead. Most of us are adept at presenting plans, and persuading intellectually, but studies have shown that it is just as important to create an emotionally healthy work environment. This would encourage people to be more connected to themselves, one another, and the work that they do to bring out optimal work performance.
This workshop seeks to enhance your capacity to connect with yours and others’ emotions, in order to make more informed choices in personal leadership to serve and collaborate with others in stewarding organisational goals.
At the End of the Workshop, You’ll Learn to:
- Assess your own level of emotional intelligence in handling and managing relationships in a business context, and the effects on achieving overall organisational objectives and goals
- Examine your own strengths and weaknesses to further develop your own emotional intelligence
- Better manage your personal emotions and maintain composure, self-confidence and resilience when dealing with challenges and setbacks
- Gauge the emotional climate of the stakeholders and recognise their emotional strengths and weaknesses to exercise flexibility and adaptability when dealing with them
- Demonstrate empathy by acknowledging feelings and individual perspectives, being able to take into considerations their culture, background and needs
- Apply emotional intelligence to guide your thinking and actions, and influence others to achieve win-win outcomes
- Uphold integrity in all your business dealings, and take responsibility for what has been committed to others in alignment with organisational goals
