Dr. Lee Tsao Yuan

Non-Executive Director

    Dr Lee coaches CEOs and senior managers of MNCs as well as local companies in Asia, both individually and in teams.

    A naturally structured and results-oriented person, her coaching style is a blend of intuition, graciousness and challenge. One of her passions is to use the Gallup strengths coaching approach to help her clients understand, appreciate and apply their talents so as to lift performance and be the best that they can be.

    Besides Coaching, Dr Lee also conducts professional coach training, mentor coaching and coaching supervision in Singapore and China. She designs and implements holistic, integrated leadership development programs.

    She also facilitates management workshops such as strategy development retreats using group coaching and group process facilitation methods.

    Professional Experience

    Dr Lee’s professional experience spans the private, public, political and academic worlds, both in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.

    Her experience in the corporate world includes board directorships. She was an independent director for six years on the boards of two of Singapore’s top companies (Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Ltd and Keppel Corporation Ltd); as well as other boards (NASDAQ-listed Pacific Internet Ltd, Land Transport Authority and the Singapore Land Authority). She was also previously involved in the management of SDC Consulting (now Capelle Consulting).

    During her ten years at the Institute of Policy Studies in the 1990s, as Deputy Director and then as Director, she was involved in a number of public committees in Singapore. Her international experience includes participation in four international advisory groups as Singapore’s only representative. She was also a member of the Appeals Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

    Dr Lee served as a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore for two terms in the 1990s. During this time she not only directly contributed towards the public debate on policy, but also obtained an invaluable perspective on policy formulation from a political angle.

    Dr Lee started her career as a professional economist. She taught at the National University of Singapore, and was a sessional instructor at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University while on leave in Vancouver.
